“Counseling could be in order,” the Wall Street Journal editorial board is suggesting for former President Donald Trump.

Trump and the Journal’s editorial board are butting heads, and neither of the two are staying silent.

“For someone who says we don’t matter, he sure spends a lot of time reading and responding to us,” the editorial board wrote in an op-ed published on Thursday evening. “Thanks for the attention.”

“The former President is unhappy with us for recognizing reality.”

The editorial board claims that what appears to “rankle” Trump the most is that they “recognize the reality that Mr. Trump is the main reason Republicans lost two Georgia Senate races in January and thus the Senate majority.”

“Mr. Trump refuses to take responsibility for those defeats, contrary to all evidence,” they add.

The op-ed later reads:

“Losing to Joe Biden of all people, and by 7.1 million votes as an incumbent President, must be painful. Counseling could be in order. Any good analyst will explain that the first step toward recovery is to accept reality.”

Trump slammed the Journal in a statement on Thursday, saying it fights “for globalist policies such as bad trade deals, open borders, and endless wars that favor other countries and sell out our great American workers, and they fight for RINOS that have so badly hurt the Republican Party.”

“That’s where they are and that’s where they will always be,” he added. “Fortunately, nobody cares much about The Wall Street Journal editorial anymore. They have lost great credibility.”

The former president’s remarks come after the Journal’s editorial board questioned if Trump is “so great” for the GOP politically then, “Why are Republicans shut out of power?”

“He proceeded to lose the White House on Nov. 3, and he cost the GOP two Georgia Senate races on Jan. 5 as he made his claims of election fraud the main issue rather than checking Mr. Biden and Nancy Pelosi,” the editorial board wrote in an opinion piece on Monday.
