A Georgia sheriff’s deputy pulled a woman from a burning car, saving her from the flames. Bodycam footage was released after the Saturday incident, displaying the life-threatening scene.

In the video, provided by 11 Alive, the officer pulled over as a bystander told him someone needs help. He said, “There’s a car in there?” and ran through thick brush to reach the vehicle.

The car was smoking and the driver seemed disoriented. The officer broke the window open and shouted, “Get out! Get out! Get out of the car!”

He repeatedly told her, “Take your seatbelt off!”

Flames erupt as he screamed for her to unbuckle. When the driver was finally freed the officer pulled her from the car and set her away from the fire.

The officer then asked, “Is there anybody else in the car?”

The woman was confused and pointed to the car. The officer then checked around the burning vehicle and smashed another window to make sure it was empty.

He returned to the woman and said, “There’s nobody else in the car.”

The incident only took a few minutes but offered a fast-paced scene that displayed a direct look into the duties of first responders.

Fox News reported the officer who saved the woman is Candler County Sheriff’s Office’s Sgt. Ashleigh Taylor.

Taylor responded to the 911 call in Metter, Georgia, after other motorists reported a crash off of Highway 46.

Candler County Sheriff John Miles commended Taylor on the department’s Instagram page. He stated, “Due to Sergeant Taylor’s swift actions, the driver was removed from a dangerous situation before it escalated.”

Miles also wrote, “We would also like to thank the number of motorists that stopped to assist. Please join us in commending Sergeant Taylor for the outstanding job on this incident!”
