American Majority Founder and CEO Ned Ryun appeared on Fox News Monday to criticize Democratic Boston Mayor Michelle Wu’s “delusional woke mind” after a response to a recent attack at a Chick-fil-A restaurant.

Wu faced criticism after offering condolences to the family of a knife-wielding assailant, whom an off-duty police officer fatally shot while thwarting a potentially deadly attack at a Back Bay Chick-fil-A. During an appearance on “The Ingraham Angle,” Ryun said that this mindset represents a broader cultural weakness that is detrimental to societal strength and clarity.

“The woke mind virus, Laura, it’s insane what it does. It eats away the brain, and it causes you to truly view the world in a very twisted, warped way,” Ryun said. “And you can see that with the Boston mayor’s comments and how they approach the wokesters, how they approach life when things like this happen. So it’s a delusional woke mind virus that has led them to say these things.”

Ryun said Wu’s response was a sign of weakness.

“The woke mind virus leads people to do and say insane things. This is pretty cut and dry. There was an assailant and [the assailant] broke the law, committed a horrible crime,” Ryun said. “There’s no thoughts and prayers for the assailant that did damage to this community. But it’s this weakness. The woke mind virus leads to weakness, Laura, and you’re seeing it on display.”

Ryun also connected the perceived rise of woke ideology with political outcomes.

“I would say it’s one of the reasons that Trump won on November 5 and is continuing to perform as well as he is with the American people,” Ryun added.

Boston’s city leaders extended their condolences after an off-duty police officer shot a man who was threatening people with a knife at a local Chick-fil-A, according to CBS Austin. The Boston Police Department reported to The National News Desk that the incident occurred in the city’s Back Bay neighborhood and the assailant, armed with a knife, chased two individuals into the restaurant and threatened their lives.

“My condolences and all of our thoughts are with the family of the individual whose life has been lost,” Wu said. “I’m also thinking of all the people who were impacted here today in one of the busier parts of the city with this tragedy.”

“This is a pretty tragic incident,” Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox added. “We don’t look for loss of life, so our condolences go to the individual who was killed tonight.” Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden also offered his “thoughts and prayers” to the family of the attacker.

However, not all reactions were supportive of the officials’ comments. The X account Bostonians Against Mayor Wu criticized the leaders, saying, “Unbelievable. This city cares more about protecting criminals than its residents.”
