Whoopi Goldberg is dismissing concerns about antifa because it does not have an organized structure.

The co-hosts of ABC’s “The View” discussed a text reportedly sent by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson where he reportedly discussed watching supporters of former President Donald Trump beating up “an antifa kid.”

Joy Behar focused on the reference to antifa as she said, “I looked it up. It’s not a highly organized movement. It’s a moniker. It’s not a unified group like the Proud Boys are.”

“And more importantly, they are not endorsed by elected leaders… for example, well, we know Trump said to the Proud Boys stand back and standby,” she added.

Conservative Alyssa Farah-Griffin noted FBI Director Christopher Wray called antifa members anarchists.

However, Behar interjected, “They’re not as organized.”

Goldberg chimed in, “No one has found antifa. We’ve heard a lot about antifa. I thought it was a kitty cat.”

Meanwhile, Sara Haines pointed out, “[Wray] also said… it’s a real thing, it’s not a fiction, it’s just not organized. They ambush, they’re awful… They show up everywhere there’s protesting, rioting.”

Still, Goldberg insisted, “It’s so odd that we have not… where are they? They don’t come on television.”

Griffin pointed out there are people who identify with antifa online.

However, Goldberg said, “They may. And I’m going to say, I think oftentimes things like antifa are things that are thought up — ideas that are thought up — and pushed and moved.”

“Because for me, you know, antifa if we go with the name… it’s anti-fascist,” she continued, adding, “So I don’t know who’s doing what. I do know that if you had asked a number of people of color about Tucker Carlson we could have told everyone what he really felt.”

Whoopi goes from saying they don’t exist to defending their mission because “if we go with the name” they’re “antifascist.” Joy agrees.

In testimony before the House Homeland Security Committee in 2020, Wray said, “antifa is a real thing. It’s not a fiction.”

“We look at antifa as more of an ideology or a movement than we do an organization. We do have quite a number of properly predicated domestic terrorism investigations into violent anarchist extremists, any number of whom self-identify with the antifa movement,” he added.
