Former President Donald Trump got a little sidetracked while speaking about the ongoing conflict in Israel.

On Monday, Trump spoke about Hamas’ attack as he said, “Babies were murdered and they were burned. People who think like this, people who support this, and people who sympathize with this are sick. They’re sick and they’re evil and they’re not going to be fixed.”

“You’re not going to make them into wonderful people one day,” he added.

Trump then appeared to swat away a fly with his hand.

“I didn’t know you have flies in Iowa,” he joked, adding, “I hate flies!”

Trump joked he would “get in trouble” for stating he hates flies and would be accused of “cruelty to animals.”

He went on:

“I was at a place, and it was a beautiful place. But they had flies. And I said, ‘Get flypaper.’ And they said, ‘Sir, they’re not allowed to sell it anymore because of cruelty to animals. They actually said that. I don’t know, it used to be great.”

Trump’s comments come after he was criticized for taking shots at Israel and its prime minister following Hamas’ attack.
