The Washington Post received criticism for a headline published about Attorney General Merrick Garland.
Users on Twitter took to the platform to blast the outlet for publishing an article with the headline, “Garland vowed to depoliticize Justice. Then the FBI searched Mar-a-Lago.”
The headline sparked several reactions on Twitter.
One user wrote, “Washington Post, reporting in February: Hey, Trump stole a bunch of classified documents and brought them to Mar-a-lago.”

The Washington Post later tweeted a clarification to the story.

The Post’s article, by Perry Stein, suggests the FBI’s raid of Mar-a-Lago has placed Garland “square in the middle of a huge political firestorm.”
According to the piece, “Republican allies on Capitol Hill denounced Garland and pledged to turn the tables and investigate the Justice Department.”
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) issued a statement calling for answers from the Justice Department on the investigation.
“Attorney General [Merrick] Garland and the Department of Justice should already have provided answers to the American people and must do so immediately,” he said in a statement.
