During his first interview with Fox News’ Chris Wallace since 2007, former Vice President Joe Biden was pressed on multiple gaffes he has made in recent days.

Wallace asked Biden about his “shaky performance” throughout the campaign and multiple gaffes he has made in recent days.

“I don’t particularly like asking you about this, but it is an issue in the campaign. And that has been your sometimes shaky performance on the campaign trail,” Wallace said.

After playing a clip of Biden saying he was arrested trying to see Nelson Mandela, Wallace asked, “Were you confused? Or were you just trying to embellish a story?”

Biden previously said that he was “stopped” but not arrested. During the interview on Sunday, Biden said, “I guess I should have said I was detained. I was not able to move forward.”

Wallace then asked Biden about a separate clip where Biden was heard saying, “I’m a Democratic candidate for the United States Senate.”

“You haven’t run for Senate since 2008, what happened there?” Wallace asked.

Biden said he was simply harkening back to asking for votes when he was running for the Senate. He continued to say that in context, he was asking for voters to support him in the Democratic presidential primary.

Wallace then played a clip of President Donald Trump mocking Biden during his speech at CPAC on Saturday.

“Is that the stable genius saying that?” Biden quipped, “Oh give me a break, God love him. I’m going to resist saying what I feel like saying.”

“I’m not going to try to assign names and insults to the stable genius,” Biden added before slamming Trump’s response to the coronavirus outbreak.

At the conclusion of the interview, Biden appeared to confuse Chris Wallace with NBC’s Chuck Todd, “Alright Chuck, thank you very much,” he said.

“It’s Chris,” Wallace responded.

After realizing the error, Biden chalked it up to doing several interviews back to back. Biden was also on NBC’s “Meet The Press” with Chuck Todd on Sunday.
