A co-host of ABC’s “The View” is calling into doubt the authenticity of former United Nation Ambassador Nikki Haley’s emotional comments about her deployed husband.

On Wednesday, the co-hosts of “The View” discussed Haley choking up while speaking about husband, Michael, who is deployed overseas with the South Carolina Army National Guard.

Co-host Sunny Hostin downplayed the moment as she said, “The operative word is ‘authentic’ for me.”

“I think Nikki Haley has been inauthentic from Day One. She has flip-flopped. She rose [sic] her hand said that she would vote for Trump… She had refused to say that she would not endorse him. She had the slavery gaffes over and over again,” Hostin stated.

She added, “This is a woman that I don’t find authentic at all.”

When co-host Sara Haines interjected to clarify if Hostin was suggested the emotional moment was real, she said, “No, I don’t.”

“I come from a military family as many of us do, and I don’t trust her authenticity… I didn’t feel that it was authentic,” she added.

However, Joy Behar chimed in, “For me, I thought it was a real moment because I think what you think: that she misses her husband.”

“I have a dark heart,” Hostin quipped.

During an event on Tuesday, Haley said she and her husband shared a vision to serve the country, “This vision has guided every generation. It summoned me to serve as governor of this great state and as ambassador for the greatest country in the world. And that same vision called my husband to serve in the uniform of the United States. He’s a major in the South Carolina Army National Guard.”

“As I prepare for what lies ahead, Michael is at the forefront of my mind,” she said, growing emotional. “I wish Michael was here today. And I wish our children and I could see him tonight, but we can’t.”

Haley added, “He’s serving on the other side of the world, where conflict is the norm, where terrorists hide among the innocent, where Iran’s terrorist proxies are now attacking American troops.”
