The U.S. military lost an F-35 jet after the pilot was ejected due to a “mishap” and the plane continued flying itself.

According to the New York Post, the pilot was safely recovered and was treated at a local medical center.

Meanwhile, Joint Base Charleston has partnered with the Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort to try and find the missing aircraft.

They noted in a Facebook post, “Based on the jet’s last-known position and in coordination with the FAA, we are focusing our attention north of JB Charleston, around Lake Moultrie and Lake Marion.”

The base then stated, “The public is asked to cooperate with military and civilian authorities as the effort continues.”

Individuals with any information regarding the whereabouts of the jet have been asked to call the JB Charleston Base Defense Operations Center at 843-963-3600.

This has led Americans to question the situation on X, formerly Twitter.

Trending Politics Co-Owner Colin Rugg posted, “One of the most sophisticated jets in the world is still missing as officials believe the F-35 was left in a ‘zombie state’ after the pilot was forced to eject.”

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) asked, “How is there not a tracking device and we’re asking the public to what, find a jet and turn it in?”

Now that I got that out of the way. How in the hell do you lose an F-35?

How is there not a tracking device and we’re asking the public to what, find a jet and turn it in?

Begging the public help you find it, as if it were a golden retriever????

Unforgivable.
