Former President Donald Trump is blasting Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears (R) for not declaring her support for him if he runs in 2024.

In a post on his Truth Social platform Sunday night, Trump wrote, “Never felt good about Winsome Sears. Always thought she was a phony. Now I find out she is.”

“When I helped Youngkin with his race, Endorsed him, and made a Statewide TeleRally with hundreds of thousands of people on the call, he wrote me a very nice letter thanking me for the help, and then went on to say, ‘How to win without Trump,'” he continued.

Trump added, “MAGA showed up big, but wasn’t appreciated. Sorry, Winsome, and Glenn, but we can’t let that happen!”

On Thursday, Sears appeared on Fox Business and argued voters “have said that they want a different leader.”

“A true leader understands when they have become a liability. A true leader understands that it’s time to step off the stage, and the voters have given us that very clear message,” she added.

When asked if her message applies to Trump, Sears responded, “Yes. A house divided against itself cannot stand. And indeed that’s where we are today…The voters are saying enough is enough.”

“I could not support him. I just couldn’t,” she said of another Trump presidential bid. “Because we have seen for example, in those states where he has endorsed the candidates, in fact, candidates on the same ticket who he did not endorse overperformed, whereas his candidates totally underperformed.”

She added, “We have a clear mission, and it is time to move on.”

Her comments come as Republicans were digesting a disappointing midterm election.

Ahead of Election Day, Republicans were slightly favored to win control of the Senate. However, they failed to hold onto Pennsylvania’s Senate seat and would have needed to flip control of two seats to win the upper chamber.

And on Saturday, it was projected that Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) would win reelection, giving Democrats control of the Senate.

As of Monday, the House remained too close to call, but NBC News estimates Republicans could win 219 seats and control of the chamber.

Trump adviser Jason Miller said on Steve Bannon’s podcast that Trump is planning to announce another presidential campaign on Tuesday.

“[Trump] said, ‘Look, there doesn’t need to be any question. Of course, I’m running. I’m gonna do this and I want to make sure that people know that I’m fired up,” Miller shared.
