Former President Donald Trump is expected to choose his longtime ally and former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski to lead a new super PAC.

According to Politico, the former president made the decision during a meeting at his Mar-a-Lago estate on Thursday.

Trump’s advisers including his son, Donald Trump Jr., former campaign manager Bill Stepien, former deputy campaign manager Justin Clark, former campaign manager Brad Parscale, former White House social media director Dan Scavino and senior adviser Jason Miller attended the meeting.

One of Trump’s attorneys who has been advising his team on his post-presidency plans was also in attendance.

Miller said Trump will reveal more details about his plan “in the coming weeks.”

“MAGA supporters and candidates supporting President Trump’s America First agenda are going to be impressed with the political operation being built out here,” Miller said.

He continued, “We expect formal announcements of the full team in the coming weeks, which will include some very talented operatives not yet named.”

Donald Trump Jr. will reportedly play a large role in overseeing the operation.

Trump previously formed a super PAC after the election called Save America. The PAC reportedly raised $30.9 million from Nov. 24-Dec. 31 of 2020.

The announcement of his latest endeavor comes just days before he is expected to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

One of his advisers said of Trump’s speech, “Obviously he will talk about his belief that the election had major problems in it.”

The adviser added, “However, I believe and I hope that he pivots to how we fight Biden’s socialist agenda for America and hope that it will be about the future, not the past.”

Another Trump adviser said of a possible 2024 run, “I wouldn’t expect him to announce anything definitive.”

The adviser continued, “There’s a lot of wait and see right now among those who are mentioned as probable candidates. But I think they’re all smart enough to know that they have to wait and see. They know they can’t compete against the former president.”
