President Donald Trump is arguing Former President Barack Obama (D) is unknowingly campaigning for him.

“Obama is campaigning for us. Every time he speaks, people come over to our side. He didn’t even want to endorse Sleepy Joe. Did so long after primaries were over!” Trump wrote in a Twitter post.

Obama made his first appearance on the campaign trail for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in Philadelphia on Wednesday.

He took aim at Trump over his COVID-19 pandemic response and divisive rhetoric.

Obama slammed Trump for failing to take the presidency seriously, as IJR previously reported.

“I did hope for the sake of the country that he might show some interest in taking the job seriously, but it hasn’t happened. He hasn’t shown any interest in doing the work or helping anybody but himself and his friends, or treating the presidency like a reality show that he can use to get attention,” Obama said.

He added, “By the way even then his TV ratings are down. So you know that upsets him. But the thing is, this is not a reality show. This is reality.”

Obama reassured Americans if Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris are elected, they will not have to deal with divisive rhetoric, as IJR previously reported.

“With Joe and Kamala at the helm, you’re not going to have to think about the crazy things they said every day,” Obama said. “And that’s worth a lot. You’re not going to have to argue about them every day. It just won’t be so exhausting.”

Forty two million ballots have been cast both via mail and in person ahead of the November election.

According to the University of Florida’s U.S. Elections Project, the total ballots cast in the early vote so far represent about 33% of the total ballots cast in 2016.
