President Donald Trump is calling for Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) to overrule Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on signature matching.

“Why won’t Governor [Brian Kemp], the hapless Governor of Georgia, use his emergency powers, which can be easily done, to overrule his obstinate Secretary of State, and do a match of signatures on envelopes,” Trump tweeted on Monday. “It will be a ‘goldmine’ of fraud, and we will easily WIN the state.”

Trump added on Twitter, “Also, quickly check the number of envelopes versus the number of ballots. You may just find that there are many more ballots than there are envelopes. So simple, and so easy to do. Georgia Republicans are angry, all Republicans are angry. Get it done!”

Twitter placed a tag on Trump’s tweets, reading, “This claim about election fraud is disputed.”

Georgia certified President-elect Joe Biden as the winner of the state on Nov. 20.

According to Fox News, “Ballots in Georgia are separated from their outer envelopes – where the signature is – after they are initially verified. This makes it impossible to reconnect the ballots to their envelopes, and therefore impossible to re-do signature matching after ballots are counted.”

Trump also tweeted on Monday morning, “I’m not fighting for me, I’m fighting for the 74,000,000 million people (not including the many Trump ballots that were ‘tossed’), a record for a sitting President, who voted for me!”

All of the major news outlets projected several weeks ago Biden as the winner. In the projection, Biden garnered 306 Electoral College votes while Trump received 232 electoral votes — 270 electoral votes are needed to win the White House.

Trump took aim at Raffensperger during a phone interview with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo on Sunday, where he said, “Everything has to be approved by the legislature, and they had judges making deals, and they had electoral officials making deals like this character in Georgia who’s a disaster.”

He also said of Kemp during the same interview, “He’s done absolutely nothing. I’m ashamed that I endorsed him.”

Trump also called Raffensperger an “enemy of the people” when speaking to reporters last Thursday.

Raffensperger has spoken out since the election, previously writing in a USA Today op-ed, “For those wondering, mine lost — my family voted for him, donated to him and are now being thrown under the bus by him.” In that op-ed, the Georgia secretary of state also said the state had a “wildly successful and smooth election.”

Trump has refused to concede the election, even though all major outlets projected Biden as the winner. The president has continued to push unsubstantiated widespread voter fraud claims.
