Late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg told her family before she died what her “most fervent wish” is, but President Donald Trump is suggesting someone else crafted her final request.

Ginsburg told her family, “My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed,” her granddaughter Clara Spera said in a statement after Ginsburg died on Friday at the age of 87.

However, during a phone call interview on “Fox & Friends” Monday, the president suggested, “I don’t know that she said that, or was that written out by Adam Schiff and Schumer and Pelosi.”

“I would be more inclined to the second,” he continued, adding, “But that sounds like a Schumer deal or maybe a Pelosi or Shifty Schiff.”

During the president’s interview on Fox News, he also made known that he would announce his nominee to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court on Friday or Saturday. Over the weekend, the president said he would nominate a woman, as IJR reported.

“I think it should be a woman because I actually like women much more than men,” he said at a campaign rally in North Carolina.

Over the weekend, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) spoke on ABC News where she did not rule out a second impeachment if Republicans push a Supreme Court nominee in a lame-duck session if Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden wins the election.

“We have our options. We have arrows in our quiver that I’m not about to discuss right now,” she said. “But the fact is, we have a big challenge in our country. This president has threatened to not even accept the results of the election with statements that he and his henchmen have made.”
