President Donald Trump is predicting Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) will end up losing his seat to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) because of the “impeachment hoax.”

Trump tweeted the warning on Monday morning after a weekend where he lashed out against his opponents and removed two impeachment witnesses from their posts on Friday. Trump also sent a warning to House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler, who is up for re-election against progressive candidates in 2020.

“Because of how badly they did with the Impeachment Hoax, AOC will primary Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, and win, and Jerry Nadler has a good chance of losing to his far left primary opponent!” Trump wrote on Twitter. “It is all getting quite interesting. Pelosi will lose the House, AGAIN! My poll numbers great.”

This was the second time Trump has referenced an Ocasio-Cortez challenge against Schumer. During an off-the-record lunch before the State of the Union address, Trump told television news reporters that Ocasio-Cortez would “kick [Schumer’s] ass” in an election in New York, according to POLITICO.

While Trump may just be trying to stoke some intra-party drama, Schumer won’t be up for re-election in the Senate until 2022, so Ocasio-Cortez wouldn’t even be a threat to his seat anytime soon.

Nadler, on the other hand, does face legitimate challengers from inside the party in 2020. Lindsey Boylan is a former state official in New York. He is also facing a challenge from Jonathan Herzog, who worked as a staffer for Democratic nominee for president Andrew Yang.

Nadler has been in Congress for over 26 years and his position on the House Judiciary Committee is considered one of the most powerful and important jobs in Congress.
