President Donald Trump says there is “no reason to play games” with declaring victory in the 2020 presidential election prematurely.

Americans are heading to polling stations on Tuesday to cast their ballots for who they would like to see as president. Trump is vying for reelection against Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

Speaking with “Fox & Friends” Tuesday morning by phone, the president said he is feeling “very good.”

He was also asked about a recent report suggesting he would declare victory prematurely, to which he responded that he will declare victory “when there’s victory. If there’s victory.”

A tired-sounding Trump then said, “There’s no reason to play games,” adding that he believes there is a “solid chance” of winning reelection.

Trump has addressed the report by Axios that claimed he said he would declare victory early. He told reporters on Sunday, “That was a false report,” as IJR reported.

He added, “I think it’s terrible when we can’t know the results of an election the night of the election…We’re going to go in the night of, as soon as that election’s over, we’re going in with our lawyers.”

Biden has shown a lead in national polls.

However, several states will play a critical role in who wins the election — there are 270 Electoral College votes needed to win. Some of those states include Florida, Georgia, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Texas, Wisconsin, among others.
