Former President Donald Trump says he is “disappointed” in two of his Supreme Court nominees for voting to dismiss a challenge to the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare.
During an interview on Real America’s Voice on Monday, Trump said, “I’m very disappointed” that Supreme Court Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh voted to dismiss the challenge to the law.
“I fought very hard for them, but I was very disappointed with a number of their rulings,” he added.
When asked if he is second guessing choosing Barrett and Kavanaugh, Trump said, “No, second guessing does no good. But I was disappointed with a number of rulings that they made.”

The Supreme Court ruled 7-2 on Thursday to dismiss a lawsuit against the healthcare law, keeping in place protections for people with existing health conditions and access to health insurance markets that offer subsidized plans.
Barrett was nominated and confirmed in 2020 in the midst of the presidential election and Democrats claimed she would vote to overturn the healthcare law. They also claimed Kavanaugh would vote the same way.
Then-Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) called a vote for Barrett a “vote to strike down the Affordable Care Act.” And Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) called her a “judicial torpedo” aimed at the law.
When asked if he regretted his rhetoric during Barrett’s confirmation process, Whitehouse said, “If we hadn’t done that, maybe they would have” struck down the law.
“It may be [saved] because we did so many warnings,” he added.
