President Donald Trump’s campaign is firing back at Twitter for its refusal to flag an edited video of his previous coronavirus “hoax” remarks.

On Thursday, Trump campaign spokesman Matt Wolking released a statement in response to Twitter’s decision not to label the video “manipulated media.”

Wolking criticized the video — which features Trump’s voice — offering factual evidence about the “deceptive editing” of the president’s words as it contributes to “misinformation” being circulated about the coronavirus, as he told The Hill in a statement.

Citing the Washington Post Fact Checker slapping former Vice President Joe Biden with “four Pinocchios,” Wolking explained Trump’s usage of the word “hoax.”

The video suggests Trump said, “The coronavirus, this is their new hoax.”

When Trump made the comment, he said, “Coronavirus. They’re politicizing it. We did one of the great jobs, you say, ‘How’s President Trump doing?’, ‘Oh, nothing, nothing.’ They have no clue, they don’t have any clue … And this is their new hoax. But you know we did something that’s been pretty amazing.”

The Post suggests Trump referring to the Democrats’ political efforts as opposed to the actual virus.

“This is indisputable evidence that Twitter has one rule for the Trump campaign and another rule for Democrats,” Wolking said in the statement. He continues:

“Twitter refused to apply its manipulated media label to a Biden campaign video that the Washington Post Fact Checker gave 4 Pinocchios for deceptive editing, and now Twitter is refusing to label a viral video that doctors audio of President Trump to spread misinformation about the coronavirus. Twitter’s political bias is obvious and it is actively choosing to protect Joe Biden.”

The short clip by Biden’s campaign was released just two days before Twitter rolled out its new policy.

On Thursday, the network was asked about its decision not to flag the video. A Twitter spokesperson simply doubled down on the network’s decision.

Initially, Twitter said that it would not enforce its new policy on older videos but, now the social network is no longer directly addressing any further questions about the situation.

“The Tweet you referenced will not be labeled under our synthetic and manipulated media policy,” a Twitter spokesperson told Fox News.
