As Republicans and Democrats attack former National Security Advisor John Bolton, President Donald Trump is sharing one trait he said he liked about Bolton.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Trump opened up about one quality that he said he liked about Bolton.

“The only thing I liked about Bolton was that everybody thought he was crazy,” Trump said.

He explained, “When you walk into the room with him, you’re in a good negotiating position, because they figure you’re going to war if John Bolton was there.”

Several Trump allies have blasted Bolton for his foreign policy views which they said were very hawkish.

During an interview on Fox News on Wednesday, Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani blasted Bolton and claimed he had a “desire for war” that was “kind of sick.”

In an interview on Thursday, White House trade adviser Peter Navarro also ripped into Bolton, “He comes in here in his like seersucker summer suits with the big mustache. I was in a staff meeting one time; he walked in and he was absolutely giddy at the prospect of a coup in Venezuela.”

He added, “It was like weird, and I’m thinking to myself, ‘Wait a minute. This is a serious, serious matter and he is giddy. There’s something wrong with that dude.’”

The attacks on Bolton come as his new book “The Room Where It Happened” — which is expected to contain unflattering claims about Trump — is scheduled to be published on June 23.

The Justice Department has sought a temporary restraining order to block the book from being published. In its lawsuit, the department alleges Bolton violated his nondisclosure agreement by publishing a book before it was reviewed and cleared. It also claims the book contains classified information.
