President Donald Trump aimed a demand at Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

The president asked the Republican leader to do something about the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) hearings with the postmaster general that the House and Senate are holding this week.

Trump wrote on Twitter Wednesday, “Why are Republicans allowing the Democrats to have ridiculous Post Office hearings on Saturday [and] Monday, just before and during our Convention.”

“Let them hold them NOW (during their Convention) or after our Convention is over,” he added. “Always playing right into their hands! [Mitch McConnell].”

The postmaster general’s hearing before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee is on Friday, not Saturday. Additionally, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy is set to testify before the House Oversight and Reform Committee on Monday.

The House is scheduled to vote on a post office bill on Saturday. McConnell has said that he does not believe the Senate will pass a stand-alone post office bill. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is expected to ask for around $25 million for the post office in the House’s bill.

House Oversight Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) responded to Trump’s tweet, saying, “It’s been nearly 4 years, and you still don’t get this ‘separation of powers’ thing, do you.”

The House is holding you accountable for your #AbuseofPower and #FailureToLead, @realDonaldTrump. https://t.co/7Kth9nNalO

This is not the first time that Trump has spoken out about the post office hearing that the House is holding.

Trump’s Wednesday tweet about the timing of the Democrats hearing follows a tweet on Monday in which he said, “Why is Congress scheduled to meet (on Post Office) next Monday, during the Republican Convention, rather than now, while the Dems are having their Convention. They are always playing games. GET TOUGH REPUBLICANS!!!”

The president is particularly incensed that the hearings will coincide with the Republicans’ convention, which is scheduled to start next week and will culminate with Trump accepting the party’s nomination for president.
