Even as the Electoral College prepares to cast votes on Monday, President Donald Trump is not giving up in his fight to overturn the election.

Trump spoke to Fox News about the election ahead of the Army-Navy game on Saturday — the day after the Supreme Court declined to hear a lawsuit from Texas seeking to throw out votes in states carried by President-elect Joe Biden.

Despite his barrage of post-election legal disappointment, the president was hopeful, promising his supporters, “It’s not over.”

Asked about the Electoral College vote, Trump said, “I don’t know, we’re going to speed it up as much as we can, but you can only go so fast. They give us very little time.”

Trump repeated his claims of widespread voter fraud, saying that the number of fraudulent ballots was “all far greater than the number of votes we need.” The Department of Justice previously said it had found no evidence of fraudulent votes yet that would change the outcome of the election.

The president later claimed that Biden “lost badly” in November and that “we won Georgia big, we won Pennsylvania big, we won Wisconsin big.”

Asked about his legal team, Trump said, “We never get a chance to prove [that the election was fraudulent].”

The Electoral College vote on Monday is almost certain to be another nail in the coffin of Trump’s efforts to overturn the election.

Some Republicans on Capitol Hill are hoping to maneuver a long-shot scheme to overturn the election when it is being officially certified by Congress in January.

Sen. Mo Brooks (R-Al.), who is leading that battle, recently told The New York Times, “We have a superior role under the Constitution than the Supreme Court does, than any federal court judge does, than any state court judge does.”
