President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will be celebrating Thanksgiving at the White House this year instead of traveling to Florida.

“Holiday Scheduling Update: The [President of the United States] and [First Lady of the United States] will be celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday at the [White House] this year,” Stephanie Grisham, Melania Trump’s chief of staff, tweeted.

Since the election, the president has made few public appearances as he continues to refuse to concede.

Trump hinted at making an appearance at a rally with his supporters on Friday, as IJR previously reported.

“Heartwarming to see all of the tremendous support out there, especially the organic Rallies that are springing up all over the Country, including a big one on Saturday in D.C.,” Trump said.

He added, “I may even try to stop by and say hello. This Election was Rigged, from Dominion all the way up & down!”

Trump did in fact make an appearance as his supporters ran toward his motorcade as he drove by.

He delivered public remarks for the first time since the election from the Rose Garden on Friday, as IJR previously reported.

Trump discussed whether he would implement another national lockdown amid the pandemic and refused to acknowledge the reality of a Biden administration.

“This administration will not be going to a lockdown, hopefully the…whatever happens in the future, who knows which administration it will be. I guess time will tell,” Trump said.

He went on, “I can tell you this administration will not go to a lockdown. It won’t be a necessity.”

Trump has met with advisers to discuss his future outside of the White House.

“I think every option is on the table, for a social media to a media company to him announcing he’s running for president the day he leaves,” a Republican official who has met with Trump campaign advisers said.

The president reiterated his refusal to admit defeat on Sunday.
