To President Donald Trump, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is a “sick puppy.”

The House speaker took a swipe at the president’s initial approach to the coronavirus outbreak from the beginning, as she told CNN on Sunday, “His denial at the beginning was deadly.”

“As the president fiddles, people are dying,” Pelosi said. “We just have to take every precaution.”

Trump, however, did not hold back in responding to Pelosi’s criticism of him.

The president fired back during Monday morning’s phone call interview on “Fox & Friends,” as he was asked for his reaction to Pelosi’s remarks.

“It’s a sad thing. Look, she’s a sick puppy, in my opinion. She really is. She’s got a lot of problems,” Trump responded. “That’s a horrible thing to say.”

He later added:

“Don’t forget, she was playing the impeachment game. You know, her game where she ended up looking like a fool. … All she did for the first long time was impeach, impeach … She didn’t do anything. She couldn’t get bills passed. She’s controlled by the radical left, by AOC plus three.”

“For her to make a statement like that… I think it’s a disgrace,” Trump added. “I think it’s a disgrace to her country, her family.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) also responded to Pelosi’s comments, as he said on Fox News, “She’s blaming the president of the United States for people dying because of the way he has led the country. That’s the most shameful, disgusting statement by any politician in modern history.”

The remarks between Pelosi and Trump comes shortly after the House of Representatives passed the historic $2.2 trillion coronavirus aid package on Friday, which the president then signed, as IJR reported.

Now, the partisan divide has returned to Congress. Pelosi indicated she would like to have another economic stimulus package while House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said he is not so sure there is a need for a fourth package.
