Former President Donald Trump appears to still believe he won the 2020 presidential election.

Trump spoke out for the first time since leaving office when he called into Fox News on Wednesday, where he paid tribute to late conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh.

During the phone call, Trump said, “Rush thought we won, and so do I, by the way. I think we won substantially.”

The former president continued, “Rush felt that way strongly. Many people do. Many professionals do.”

He then suggested he does not believe “that could have happened to a Democrat,” adding, “You would have had riots going on all over the place if that happened to a Democrat.”

“We don’t have the same support at certain levels of the Republican system, but we have a great people as Republicans. Rush felt we won. He was quite angry about it,” Trump continued.

Trump continued to push unsubstantiated claims of widespread voter fraud in the election following Election Day and at least three dozen lawsuits by his campaign had failed.

During the phone interview with Fox News, Trump called Limbaugh “very brave” and “a fighter.” He said he spoke to Limbaugh “three or four days ago.”

Limbaugh died on Wednesday morning, his family announced, after he battled lung cancer. He was 70 years old.
