In a string of Friday morning tweets, President Donald Trump appeared to concede that he was not re-elected — though he did push for the Supreme Court to intervene in his effort to overturn the election.

The president wrote, “Now that the Biden Administration will be a scandal plagued mess for years to come, it is much easier for the Supreme Court of the United States to follow the Constitution and do what everybody knows has to be done.”

He urged the justices to “show great Courage [and] Wisdom,” adding, “Save the USA!!!”

The president has refused to concede the election to Joe Biden and is placing his hopes in a lawsuit filed by the state of Texas that seeks to throw out votes in four states where Trump was defeated: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia and Wisconsin.

The Texas case is a long shot and it is unlikely that the justices will take it up.

In a one-sentence dismissal, the court recently rejected to hear a lawsuit in Pennsylvania where Republicans were seeking to throw out mail-in votes.

After the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, the president raced to confirm Justice Amy Coney Barrett, telling reporters that he expected the results of the election to end up in the Supreme Court.

The president also accused Biden of bungling the Swine Flu response, tweeting on Friday morning, “The attempt for a vaccine by the Obama Administration, with Joe Biden in charge, was complete and total disaster.”

The Swine Flu (H1N1), and the attempt for a vaccine by the Obama Administration, with Joe Biden in charge, was a complete and total disaster. Now they want to come in and take over one of the “greatest and fastest medical miracles in modern day history.” I don’t think so!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 11, 2020

The Swine Flu swept across the nation in 2009, infecting 60.8 million Americans and killing 12,469 over a one-year period, according to the U.S. Center for Disease Control.

The coronavirus is significantly deadlier, with over 15.6 million cases and more than 292,000 deaths, as of Friday morning.

During the campaign, Trump frequently blasted the Obama Administration’s response to the Swine Flu as a “disaster.” During the final presidential debate, Trump said of Biden, “Frankly, he ran the H1N1, swine flu, and it was a total disaster. It was less lethal, but it was a total disaster.”
