Tracee Ellis Ross Shares That Mom Diana Ross’ Christmas List Revolves Around Family

GLASTONBURY, ENGLAND - JUNE 26: Diana Ross performs on the Pyramid stage during day five of Glastonbury Festival at Worthy Farm, Pilton on June 26, 2022 in Glastonbury, England. The 50th anniversary of Glastonbury’s inaugural event in 1970 was postponed twice after two cancelled events, in 2020 and 2021, due to the Covid pandemic. Actress Tracee Ellis Ross has shared what her mother, legendary singer Diana Ross, wants for Christmas.

According to People Magazine, Diana’s list revolves around family instead of possessions.

Ellis Ross told the outlet, “All my mom wants is to be around the kids, the grandkids. That’s the thing.”

She noted her mother isn’t too picky. “Oh my mom loves anything. I swear to God, you could look at my mom and be like, ‘I made you this hug from the deepest part of my soul,’ and she would be like, ‘It’s beautiful,’” she added.

Ellis Ross also divulged how her big family spends the holidays. She said, “The kids wake up when it’s still dark, and nobody can go downstairs and you start hearing all the feet going around.”

“But gift-giving, I feel like the adults have just become chopped liver. It’s like, ‘Come on, it’s too many of us,’” she went on, noting her four siblings and eight nieces and nephews.

She stated, “For my family, the kids are the priority. So I mean, it might as well be FAO Schwarz for Christmas morning. It’s insane.”

The Ross family is known for its annual photo with matching outfits. Ellis Ross noted, “I handle food, Chudney and my mom handle the theme.”

She noted the lengths her mother goes to make each year special. She said that one year, they dressed in the Victorian style.

“My mom brought us to a costume house to do the family picture. And we went to a costume house and we were all dressed in Victorian garb,” she said.

Ellis Ross is already spreading the Christmas spirit. She’s starring in a new holiday comedy with Eddie Murphy called, “Candy Cane Lane,” about a holiday decorating competition.
