Border czar Tom Homan fired back Thursday on Fox News at a Democratic Party mayor who said that there’s an alleged mischaracterization of immigrant communities.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu said Thursday there has been a “mischaracterization of what immigrant communities represent” and she hopes to visit Washington to “speak the truth.” During an appearance on “The Ingraham Angle,” Homan responded and outlined a different scenario as he pointed out what he said are risks that he believes current sanctuary city policies pose.

“She’s looking forward to coming to D.C. I’m looking forward to going to Boston, which is going to be real soon, because we’re going to go there. We’re going to make that city much safer,” Homan said. “When I was at the CPAC the other day, what I said was a fact. I stopped counting at nine, nine sexual predators, rapists, most of them children, that are walking the streets of Massachusetts because they don’t work with ICE, and they don’t honor detainers. Nine, and that’s just in recent history.”

Homan criticized Wu’s optimism about the impact of immigrant communities in her city, contrasting it with what he said are the harsh realities of crimes committed by undocumented immigrants who are released due to sanctuary policies.

“How many times do these child rapists reoffend from the time they released them into jail and by the time we found them in the streets in the neighborhoods? We’re going to go to Boston. We’re going to make it safer. President Trump made a promise to the American people. We’re going to make the community safer,” Homan said. “We’re going to decrease illegal alien crime to zero, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do. Boston can help or get the hell out of the way because we’re coming. She’s not going to stop us. We’re going to make Boston safer. Again, I can’t overemphasize, nine child rapists that we took off the street. ”

In January, the House Oversight Committee began investigating the sanctuary city policies of Boston, Denver, Chicago, and New York, while Attorney General Pam Bondi initiated lawsuits against Illinois and New York over similar issues. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained multiple sex offenders released by Massachusetts authorities, despite requests for their deportations.

In June 2024, ICE agents arrested a 24-year-old undocumented immigrant from Guatemala, previously released on bail after being charged with child rape in Bristol County, Mass. In April 2024, they also took into custody an undocumented immigrant from Cape Verde, Mass., with multiple convictions for public lewdness.

The topic of illegal immigration regained prominence in the 2024 presidential campaign following a series of high-profile crimes committed by undocumented immigrants. On June 14, Oklahoma authorities apprehended Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez, a 23-year-old undocumented immigrant from El Salvador, for the August 2023 murder of 37-year-old Rachel Morin in Maryland.

In Houston, authorities arrested two men on June 20, charging them with the rape and murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray. Additionally, in February, Jose Antonio Ibarra, an undocumented immigrant from Venezuela, was arrested by University of Georgia police for the murder of 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley.
