Football player Tim Tebow stopped by “Fox & Friends” to talk about the war crisis in Ukraine sharing his connection with the country through his philanthropic work.

“I’ll tell you honestly, I have been so impacted by so many of the families and the individuals that we are fortunate enough to work with in Ukraine,” he said.

He went on to share that there are women “that have just finished driving 28 hours to bring food back to wounded soldiers and into special needs communities.”

“We know some who have gotten so many special needs families out and they have continued to go back,” Tebow said.

He continued, “And they have said this is their calling. This is what they are called to do. They have opportunities to leave but this is where they believe God has sent them on their mission on what they are called to do.”

Tebow went on to share that someone said that they are “everyday heroes,” but he feels differently.

“I think they’re generational heroes,” he said.

When it comes to the volunteers, Tebow said it has been an inspiration to him and his entire team, where they have really been impacted “by their faith, by their love, by their support for one another, by their hope in their community.”

“I’ll tell you, I think that there’s are a lot of people that are stepping up. And I know it doesn’t get talked about a lot, but there’s so many other non-profits that we get to work with that I’m so grateful for their faith stepping up in a time of need,” he said.

He went on to say that “we need to praise a lot of these great organizations” for doing “amazing things.” These are organizations he has also partnered with.

Tebow also praised the Ukrainian people calling them “the real heroes” for “stepping up for their family” and “for their community,” and says what they are doing is “real sacrifice.”

John 15:13 says, “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”

Tim Tebow echoes this scripture saying, “And real sacrifice is giving up what you want now for what you want most. And what they want most is to love their people.”

“And so many of them have had the chance to go and get to safety but they are willing to risk their lives to continue to help their brother and sister and that is incredible,” he said.

According to “Fox & Friends,” Tebow is urging Ukrainians to look to God and concluded the interview referencing John 16:33, which says, “I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
