Fox’s “The Five” panel reacted with audible shock Thursday after Democratic strategist Jessica Tarlov said that “it’s good” that former Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz is facing the media again.

In a post on X Wednesday, Walz announced the launch of his U.S. town hall tour starting this week in red districts. Playing a clip of Walz saying that Americans need to know Democrats are “offering them something better,” Fox host Jesse Watters asked Tarlov for her thoughts on Walz’s resurgence following his failed campaign against President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.

“All right, so what’s going on, Jessica?” Watters asked as the other panelists could be heard echoing, “Yeah. What’s going on?”

“I think it’s good that Tim Walz is out there,” Tarlov said.

Watters questioned the Democratic strategist’s response, asking, “Really?” as other panelists could be heard being surprised by her statement.

“It’s better than not confronting it, and he’s taking responsibility, which people were asking for,” Tarlov said. “They wanted Biden to take responsibility.”

WATCH:

Walz was tapped by former Vice President Kamala Harris in August 2024 as her running mate. Walz, however, came under the media’s spotlight after accusations of “stolen valor” surfaced, alleging he left his battalion in 2005 upon learning of its deployment to Iraq. Walz was also pressed on accusations of continued lying after saying he was in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square massacre.

Following Trump’s November win, post-election polls showed Harris not only earned 7 million fewer votes than former President Joe Biden in the 2020 race but failed to match Trump’s gains, according to the New York Times. The former vice president and Walz’s campaign fell short in three of the seven key swing states and in 80% of counties nationwide, handing their party a loss to significant key voting blocs.
