Inslee and Durkan took to Twitter with responses to the president's threat.

"We also assumed that we would have a functioning leadership at the federal level that would help be a stable, effective partner, and that has not been the case."

Inslee cited Biden's past work and current policy proposals as evidence of his leadership on environmental issues.
