The children of late conversationist Steve Irwin — Bindi and Robert Irwin — honored him on a day that is dedicated to him.

On Nov. 15, Bindi Irwin, 25, posted a sweet throwback photo of her and her late father on Instagram for  Steve Irwin Day, which according to the Australia Zoo’s website, is meant to honor his “passion for wildlife and commitment to conservation.”

“To the world, he will be remembered as the greatest Wildlife Warrior. To our family, he will be remembered as our world,” she wrote in the caption.

Robert Irwin, 19, posted a touching video of the “Crocodile Hunter” doing what he did best on his Instagram page.

“A day to remember our dad, the greatest Wildlife Warrior on the planet. He was one man who changed the world forever and continues to inspire the next generations,” he wrote in the caption.

Steve Irwin died in 2006 after being stung by a stingray in Australia. He was 44.

In an interview with E! News at the Steve Irwin Gala Dinner in Los Angeles, Bindi Irwin spoke about her grief after the loss of her father. She was 8 years old at the time of his passing.

“When you lose someone it really is like losing a piece of your heart. And it’s really really difficult. Some days you feel like curling up in a little corner because it’s all too hard,” she explained.

She also shared how she’s been able to cope with his death to encourage others dealing with loss.

“If you can remember, reminisce on those really good times,” she said. “And choose to celebrates (sic) someone’s life, I feel like that really helps.”
