Anne Heche’s oldest son, Homer Heche Laffoon, has made a request involving his mother’s fortune after she died without a will, according to a report.

On Thursday, The New York Post reported Laffoon asked a Los Angeles County Court this week if he could be in control of his mother’s fortune.

He claimed his mother’s personal property and annual income were “unknown,” as the Post noted.

Additionally, Laffoon asked the court to appoint him to represent his brother’s interests.

Earlier this month, Heche died from injuries she sustained in a car crash.

The Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner-Coroner later ruled that her death was an accident.

The report said that Heche sustained “sternal fracture due to blunt trauma” and the cause of death was explained as “inhalation and thermal injuries.”

Heche’s family and friends said that she experienced “severe anoxic brain injury.”

Last week, it was revealed that Heche would be laid to rest at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.

Laffoon issued a statement to People, saying, “My brother Atlas and I want to thank Tyler, Noelle and all the amazing people at Hollywood Forever for their kindness, compassion and generosity of spirit. We are convinced our Mom would love the site we have chosen for her; it’s beautiful, serene and she will be among her Hollywood peers.”

The statement continues, “Most importantly, Hollywood Forever is a living place, where people attend movies and concerts and other events. She was our Mom, but the kindness and the outpouring of the past few days reminded us that she also belongs to her fans, to the entertainment community, and now, to the ages.”
