Tributes have been pouring in following the death of legendary singer Tina Turner.

On Wednesday, the love and respect for Turner was evident as she was honored by a slew of celebrities.

Actress Angela Bassett, who depicted Turner in the 1993 film “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” honored her in a touching Instagram post.

“How do we say farewell to a woman who owned her pain and trauma and used it as a means to help change the world? Through her courage in telling her story, her commitment to stay the course in her life, no matter the sacrifice, and her determination to carve out a space in rock and roll for herself and for others who look like her, Tina Turner showed others who lived in fear what a beautiful future filled with love, compassion, and freedom should look like,” she wrote in the caption of a photo of the pair.

Bassett also revealed what Turner told her during their last conversation.

“Her final words to me – for me – were ‘You never mimicked me. Instead, you reached deep into your soul, found your inner Tina, and showed her to the world,'” she added.

Bassett concluded, “She gave us her whole self. And Tina Turner is a gift that that (sic) will always be ‘simply the best.’ Angels sing thee to thy rest…Queen.”

Singer Dolly Parton also honored the “Proud Mary” singer.

“Now she’s rollin’ rollin’ rollin’ onto glory. Roll on Tina. We will always love you!” Parton wrote.

Singer Mariah Carey paid tribute by using words like “legendary,” “iconic,” “diva” and “superstar.”

“An incredible performer, musician (sic) and trailblazer. To me, she will always be a survivor and an inspiration to women everywhere. Her music will continue to inspire generations to come,” she wrote.

Carey added, “Rest in Peace, Queen.”

The news of Turner’s death was announced on Wednesday on her official Instagram page.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner,” the caption read. “With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow. Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music.”

The post concluded, “All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly.”

Turner died after a long illness in her home near Zurich, Switzerland.

She was 83 years old.
