President Donald Trump is receiving harsh criticism from Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) after she argued he is doing everything in his power to sabotage the 2020 presidential election.

Appearing on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Friday, Duckworth explained how Trump is undermining the election with his attacks on mail-in voting.

“What keeps me up at night is the Postal Service. Donald Trump has done everything he can to undermine mail-in voting,” Duckworth said.

She added, “I voted by mail from Iraq in a combat zone, it was good enough for our troops in a combat zone, it’s good enough for all of us and Donald Trump is trying to undermine this election.”

Duckworth noted Postmaster General Louis DeJoy testified on Friday in front of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and announced the Postal Service would not return mail processing and sorting machines the agency has already removed.

She recognized DeJoy’s announcement as another way the Trump administration is trying to infringe upon Americans’ right to vote.

“We see a real determined effort by the Trump administration to undermine a very basic, fundamental rights of all Americans, and that is the ability to vote,” Duckworth said.

Duckworth’s comments come amid growing concerns of whether the Postal Service will be able to handle an expected influx of mail-in ballots ahead of the November election.

DeJoy testified the agency is “fully capable and committed” to making sure election mail is delivered to Americans safely and on-time, as IJR previously reported.

Trump continues to criticize mail-in voting.

He told Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Thursday the upcoming election will “be the greatest scam in history,” as IJR previously reported.

Trump also threatened to send law enforcement and U.S. attorneys to polling places across the United States to prevent voter fraud.
