Savannah Chrisley shared a new perspective after visiting her parents in prison.

In the Feb. 14 episode of her podcast, Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley, she shared she is optimistic about the future following a visit with her dad in prison.

“Even visiting my dad, like, I know I have so much hope and so much restored strength that I’m like, ‘This isn’t the end.’ And I know that they’re going through what they’re going through for us to make a difference, for us to make a change. Because whether this appeal works or not, they’re still coming out with a story,” she explained.

She also revealed the treatment her mother, Julie Chrisley, has received while in prison.

“My mom’s in a facility that has no air, but yet, there are service dogs for the prison that are in a heated and cooled building because it’s inhumane for them not to have air,” she shared.

Savannah Chrisley, 25, added she “read an executive order” that was signed by President Joe Biden which states “federal inmates must be housed in environmentally friendly facilities.”

“And I’m like, ‘OK, well, this is completely opposite of that,'” she continued.

An executive order posted on the White House official website reads, “The Federal Government also has a responsibility to ensure the safe and humane treatment of those in the Federal criminal justice system.  However, as the Department of Justice’s Office of Inspector General found in 2016, privately operated criminal detention facilities do not maintain the same levels of safety and security for people in the Federal criminal justice system or for correctional staff. We have a duty to provide these individuals with safe working and living conditions.”

Savannah Chrisley admitted she didn’t know how corrupt the prison system was until she was “impacted by it.”

In June 2022, Todd and Julie Chrisley were convicted of “conspiring to defraud Atlanta banks.”

On Jan. 17, they reported to prison to serve out their combined 19-year prison sentences.
