“Saturday Night Live” took the opportunity to mock Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) during its first show of 2021.

During a segment called, “What Still Works?” actress and comedian Kate McKinnon took on the role of a talk show host where she had Greene on as a guest, portrayed by comedian Cecily Strong.

“Thanks for having me. Gun?” Strong as Greene said.

McKinnon’s character asked about Greene’s conspiracy theories she has been promoting.

“How much time you got?” Strong’s Greene joked.

She added, “I believe the Parkland shooting was a hoax. The teachers were actors and the children were dolls. I believe 9/11 was a hoax. Did anyone actually see it happen. I’ve also told my supporters that they should physically murder Nancy Pelosi.”

McKinnon, seemingly confused, asked Strong as Greene, “You’re a U.S. representative?”

She asked Strong’s Greene what her colleagues did when they found out about the conspiracy theories she was pushing.

“I was promoted to the Education Committee,” she replied.

McKinnon concluded, “So government doesn’t work.”

Greene’s conspiracy theories have stirred up significant controversy over the last week.

Some Republicans have voiced their criticism of Greene including Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) and Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio).

“Let’s be clear: She is not a Republican,” Kinzinger said during a CNN “New Day” interview Thursday.

He continued, “She may be like this new definition of Republican, but that’s kind of a RINO thing, a Republican in name only is what she is. I don’t think she should have the privilege of any committees.”

Portman called on Republicans in the House to condemn Greene’s comments, as IJR reported.

“I think Republican leaders ought to stand up and say it is totally unacceptable,” Portman said.

He was asked if she should be stripped of her committee assignment.

“I assume that’s something that they’re looking at and I wouldn’t be surprised if that happens. And I think that’s a way to send a message,” Portman replied.
