Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) is sharing that he would “definitely” consider articles of impeachment.

During Friday’s interview on “CBS This Morning,” Sasse weighed in on whether he believes the 25th Amendment should be invoked or if Trump should be impeached.

The Republican senator said it was “unquestionable” that Trump was “flagrantly disregarding his oath of office” with “his constant addiction to stoking division” this week.

Sasse was asked multiple times about “what should happen” to Trump “now.” The senator, however, said the “most important question” is “what happens to America after the next 12 days.”

The Republican senator then said, “The House, if they come together and have a process, I will definitely consider whatever articles they might move, because as I’ve told you I believe the president has disregarded his oath of office.”

“He swore an oath to the American people to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. He acted against that,” Sasse continued. “What he did was wicked.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is among the Democrats who have called for the 25th Amendment to be invoked. If Vice President Mike Pence and the Cabinet do not invoke the 25th Amendment, then Congress may take up articles of impeachment, Pelosi said during Thursday’s press conference.

Some Republicans have supported the effort to invoke the 25th Amendment. Invoking the 25th Amendment would put Pence in charge until President-elect Joe Biden is inaugurated on Jan. 20.

On Friday, there will be a House Democrat caucus call to discuss the potential of pursuing impeachment against Trump, Axios reports.
