As former Vice President Joe Biden racks up endorsements from his former primary competitors, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has not been as successful.

During a Fox News town hall in Michigan on Monday night, Sanders was asked if he had asked Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), who shares a similar policy platform as him, for her support. He did not answer the question.

“Elizabeth and I talk. We have talked for twenty years. We talk on a regular basis. How’s that for a political answer?”

When pressed again on whether he asked Warren for her support, Sanders responded, “We talk on a regular basis.”

While Warren and Sanders share a somewhat similar political ideology, they had a contentious moment during the campaign when Warren claimed that Sanders told her he didn’t think a woman could be president. Sanders denied that claim.

After suspending her presidential campaign, Warren said she would not be endorsing either presidential candidate immediately. However, in the days since, she has not been reluctant to criticize the behavior of some of Sanders’ supporters.

Still, many have wondered whether Warren will endorse Sanders. A Warren endorsement for Sanders could help to unify the progressive wing of the party behind the Vermont senator, but it’s unclear if she would do so.

During an interview on CNN on Sunday, Sanders said that he would “love” to have the support of Warren and her supporters.
