Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is known for campaigning on a progressive agenda, and he is predicting former Vice President Joe Biden (D) will do the same.

“I think what you will see is the vice president beginning to move in a more progressive direction,” Sanders said.

Sanders spoke highly of Biden calling him a “good politician” and claimed his people are “very smart.”

Watch his comments below:

He pointed to the demographics Biden is going to have to focus on to gain more support including younger Americans and low-income Americans.

Sanders believes Biden is beginning to listen to the concerns Americans have including tuition-free public colleges and universities and canceling student debt for some.

Sanders noted he would have taken the solution to those concerns a step further.

“I would have gone obviously a lot further, but that is a movement in the right direction,” Sanders said. “Not far enough in my mind but it is a movement, an important movement.”

Sanders reported Biden supports lowering the age of eligibility for Medicare and how it is another step in the “right direction.”

He is not the only one to suggest Biden become more progressive.

Biden received an endorsement from billionaire and former presidential hopeful Tom Steyer, as he encouraged him to show voters a more progressive agenda, as IJR previously reported.

Steyer suggested Biden focus on issues such as climate change and environmental justice.

A spokesman for Sanders recently suggested the Democratic National Committee may try and replace Biden as the nominee.

Sanders suspended his campaign on Wednesday, as IJR previously reported.

While he has not officially endorsed Biden, Sanders has said he is determined to do whatever it takes to beat President Donald Trump and will continue to offer advice to Biden.
