Tucker Carlson joined Russell Brand for his first interview since leaving Fox News. It was highly anticipated and circled around the main theme of freedom of information.

Brand promoted the discussion on Twitter stating, “Forming alliances across the political spectrum is vital to tackle centralized authority – that’s why @TuckerCarlson is joining me on my show.”

The post has reached 2 million views, and Brand followed this up with another post on Thursday.

He played a clip of himself stating, “What you have to accept is Tucker Carlson was out of step with the cadence of ordinary mainstream rhetoric. That’s why I predict he’ll find himself in an independent news space now, perhaps with more power than ever.”

Brand’s live stream reached at least 130 thousand viewers on Rumble and 36 thousand viewers on YouTube.

During Brand’s discussion with Carlson, they constantly noted concerns over censorship and the right to share information.

Carlson joked about his age and his values noting, “I’m over 50, so like, why wouldn’t I just say exactly what I think at all times? And I do.”

He described how certain labels have been used in the current political climate stating, “The term racist or white supremacist or white nationalist…these are terms designed to silence people.”

Carlson also explained how this affected him personally. He said, “The first time I was called a white supremacist, I was like geez. That’s…that hurt. It stung.”

He added:

“Then I realized the people using those terms are not sincere at all. There’s no sincerity. Their words have no meaning to them, except, as they’re useful as tools to acquire political power.”

Brand noted, “We aim to have conversations like this all the time.”

He then urged viewers to join on Rumble and shut down the YouTube stream stating, “Bye-bye YouTube.”
