Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani claims the amount his ex-wife believes that he owes her is a “gross exaggeration.”

On Thursday, The New York Post reported that Rudy Giuliani made the remark during a hearing in Manhattan court.

The outlet noted his ex-wife, Judith Giuliani, previously asked a judge to hold her ex-husband in contempt and put him in prison for allegedly falling behind on paying her $262,000.

Rudy Giuliani reportedly owed her the amount under the terms agreed upon in their 2019 divorce settlement, as the Post explained.

“I do owe her money but I don’t owe her $260,000,” Rudy Giuliani told the judge.

He continued, “That’s a gross exaggeration. I owe her $50,000.”

Additionally, Rudy Giuliani went after the media for their coverage of his ex-wife’s accusations.

He called it “pretty devastating … when we have a non-disparagement clause.”

The Post also reported that Supreme Court Justice Michael Katz told Rudy Giuliani “he’s technically in default for not having filed papers in response to Judith’s allegations.”

Giuliani reportedly said, “I’m being sued in ten different cases. I’m getting ready for two massive hearings.”

He added, “It’s totally my fault. I don’t know how to emphasize to you the pressures …”

In April 2018, Judith Giuliani filed for divorce from her husband.

“We hope to do this as amicably as possible and hope that people will respect the privacy of our children at this time,” Rudy Giuliani said at the time.

This marked Rudy Giuliani’s second divorce.

In July 2002, he divorced his second wife, television anchor Donna Hanover.

Prior to his relationship with Hanover, he was married to his second cousin, Regina Peruggi, for 14 years.

That marriage was reportedly annulled.
