Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson clarified that none of his friends support President Joe Biden, though they support the Democratic Party.

During an interview on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” The Rock spoke to host Joe Rogan about how he joined the World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. (WWE), the ongoing situation between Israel and Hamas, the Maui wildfires, and the increased political division in the United States.

Rogan brought up how the U.S. is “divided and polarized” and placed the blame on social media and people who are addicted to their phones, social media apps, and “reading stuff and attacking each other.”

“When I was a kid, you could have a Republican friend. It was no big deal. It’s no big deal,” Rogan said. “Like, ‘Oh, Bobby likes George Bush.’ Who cares? Who gives a f**k? You know, you were a supporter of Bill Clinton, he liked George Bush. Nobody cared.”

NEW: The Rock backtracks after saying he has friends who support President Joe Biden.

Rock: “I have friends who support Trump. I have friends who support Biden.”

Rogan: “Do you really have friends who support Biden?”

Rogan continued, “Nobody like, ‘f**k you.’ It wasn’t like, ‘you’re a Nazi.’ Like what do you mean I’m a Nazi? I just want lower taxes.”

In a FiveThirtyEight/Ipsos poll conducted between May 26, 2022 and June 6, 2022, 28% of Americans expressed concern with political extremism or polarization in the U.S.

A more recent poll conducted by Gallup in August showed that the issues that Americans agreed on were becoming more divided, especially on topics related to government power, global warming, and abortion.

“Dude, it’s the craziest thing. I have friends who support Trump,” The Rock responded. “I have friends who support Biden.”

When questioned as to whether The Rock really had friends “who support Biden” The Rock clarified that they support the Democratic Party.

“No, no, no, no,” The Rock said. “Here’s what I do. I have friends – thank you. That’s a good check. Because that’s important. This is important context.”

Rogan interrupted him by saying, “they support the Democratic Party,” to which The Rock agreed.

“I have friends who are loyal to the party,” The Rock explained, adding that he also has friends who supported Trump and those who said, ‘f**k it, I’m not voting for either one.'”

A recent Rasmussen Reports poll conducted between Nov. 9 and 15 showed that Biden had an approval rating of 42% and a disapproval rating of 56%. Similarly, an RMG Research poll conducted between Nov. 13 and 14 showed Biden with a 39% approval rating and a 58% disapproval rating.
