Riley Keough, a granddaughter of singer Elvis Presley, opened up about her new show.

In an interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” Keough, 33, spoke about how she came across the role for her new miniseries, “Daisy Jones & The Six.” It is based on the book which centers around a ‘70s rock band.

“I really wanted to do something that felt joyous and fun and it would bring people joy and entertainment to watch and it just sort of fell in my lap, essentially, and so I do believe in, you know, everything happens for a reason,” she said.

Keough, who plays Daisy Jones, said, “It was such an emotional and special experience for me.”

She revealed it took two years of her life to make.

She also shared how she and her co-stars prepared themselves for the musical drama.

“It’s pretty amazing. I think we really came from not being able to play anything on a guitar or sing, really, to having a full record going out, which is like it’s crazy to us, I think,” she explained. “We had months of jam sessions, so we had months of rehearsals, so we were basically in band practice for, I don’t know, a year.”

Keough is a daughter of the late Lisa Marie Presley, who was a musician in her own right.

When asked by “ET” how she felt about “continuing her family’s musical legacy” with this show, Keough replied, “I certainly wouldn’t put that pressure on it. I don’t know if there is continuing my grandfather’s legacy. It’s its own sort of thing to me. But it was a really fun experience for me.”

Continuing, she said, “I’m not a musician — or I am now I guess. I’ve been interested in film my whole life and so for me, it was more really loving to get to have a relationship with music in that way.”

“Daisy Jones & The Six” is set to be released March 3 on Amazon Prime Video.
