Burgum, 67, is one of eight Republican candidates who qualified to be at the debate after the Republican National Committee (RNC) released new qualifying criteria in June in order for candidates to attend the primary debates.

Others who qualified for the debate are former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, and former Vice President Mike Pence.

Barnum was injured while playing a game of pick-up basketball with his staff, CNN reported.

The debate will air on Fox News at 9 p.m. Wednesday.
