Reps. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) and Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) do not want Republicans to be in control, according to Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.).

During an interview with Fox News, Banks criticized Cheney and Kinzinger, who were appointed to a select committee investigating the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

“The members of Congress who were selected to be in the room were picked. Republicans, including Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, by the way, those two do not want Republicans to win back the majority next year,” Banks said Tuesday.

He added, “They want Democrats to remain in control, and the American people should keep that in mind, especially Republicans in their states and in their districts, knowing that these two would rather Nancy Pelosi stay in charge and the radical Democrats advance their socialist agenda than Republicans winning back the majority to save our country.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) prohibited Banks and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) from serving on the committee. Banks shared why he believed he was rejected from the committee during a Fox News interview Sunday, as IJR reported.

“It’s more clear than ever that Nancy Pelosi is not interested in investigation. She’s only interested in a narrative,” he said.

Banks added, “She claims the reason that she booted me from the committee was because of antics on the part of Jim Jordan and I. In hindsight, what I realize what she means by that now is that we were prepared to ask questions that no one else has asked and demand answers as to why the Capital was vulnerable to an attack on January 6th?”

Jordan also responded to Pelosi’s decision to kick him off the committee on Tuesday.

“Why wasn’t more help there that day? And the only person who can answer that question is the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives. And I think she thought we were going to keep raising that question…and that’s why she didn’t put me on,” Jordan told Fox News.
