Reality star Todd Chrisley opened up about how his advice to his daughter affected her marriage.

On the Nov. 2 episode on his podcast “Chrisley Confessions” with his wife Julie Chrisley, Todd Chrisley opened up about his oldest daughter Lindsie Chrisley’s decision to have premarital sex, something Todd Chrisley said he advised his children not to do.

“My daughter said to me on her podcast several weeks ago that she would have never married her husband had she not had sex with him before marriage, but because of the shame and guilt that she had for doing that before marriage is why she married because she felt like … that cleaned it up … It ended in a divorce,” Todd Chrisley shared.

Romans 8:1 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

The father of six added that his daughter who was married to her former husband, Will Campbell, for ten years told him that if he hadn’t been “so hard” on her about avoiding premarital sex, “she may have taken a different route.”

Nonetheless, Todd Chrisley is still adamant on teaching his children to do the right thing.

“I say to my kids today, that just because everyone’s doing it doesn’t mean you do it,” he said.

On her podcast “Southern Tea” Lindsie Chrisley opened up about how her divorce helped her reconnect with her family whom she was estranged from for some time and the message her father wrote for her on his social media once the divorce became public.

She shared:

“After my divorce stuff had become public, my dad had posted, ‘I’m here, I love you, whatever’s going on in your life right now, I see it. I’m working things out for the good for you. My child, there is nothing that you can do or have done that would make me love you less. “‘I will try to protect you from anything and anyone who tries to harm you or your reputation. I’m stronger than depression and anxiety and braver than loneliness, and nothing will ever exhaust me. I promise you I will never leave you nor forsake you.'”

Lindsie Chrisley is also the mother to a 10-year-old son named Jackson whom she shares with Will Campbell.
