The Queen Consort, Camilla, honored the late Queen Elizabeth ll in the wake of her passing.

In a new interview with the BBC, Camilla opened up about Queen Elizabeth ll’s long reign, which lasted for 70 years.

“She’s been part of our lives forever. I’m 75 now and I can’t remember anyone except the queen being there,” she said.

Camilla, who has been married to King Charles lll since 2005, also spoke about the difficulty that Queen Elizabeth ll must have faced being a “solitary woman” in her position.

“There weren’t women prime ministers or women presidents, she was the only one, so I think she carved her own role,” Camilla said.

Camilla shared that Queen Elizabeth ll made a rule that she would have her “private time” and “private passions” and her “public role.”

She also spoke about how she would enjoy spending time at Balmoral in Scotland during the summer with her family and “doing the things she loved.”

In the interview, Camilla spoke about an interest of the Queen’s, saying, “Her real passion was (horse) racing.”

She added, “You wouldn’t dare question her or argue with her on how a horse had bred or how it ran because you’d get a very steely blue-eyed look back again.”

Camilla also shared what she will always remember about Queen Elizabeth ll telling BBC, “She’s got those wonderful blue eyes that when she smiles they light up her whole face. I’ll always remember that smile. That smile is unforgettable.”

Queen Elizabeth ll died on September 8, 2022, at 96 years old.

She was crowned queen at the age of 25 and was the longest-serving monarch in British history.

Her official state funeral was held Monday at Westminster Abbey in London.
