White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is sharing if President Joe Biden agrees with Former President Donald Trump on space policy.

A reporter noted during Psaki’s press briefing on Tuesday the Biden administration announced its intention to keep the National Space Council.

It has also expressed support for the Space Force and the Artemis program. The reporter pointed out these are three programs the Trump administration put in place, asking Psaki, “Would it be fair to say that space policy is one of the few areas where President Biden actually agrees with his predecessor?”

Psaki replied, “That sounds accurate to me. Look I think the president believes that the National Space Council… provides an opportunity to generate national space policy strategies, synchronize on America’s space activities at a time of unprecedented activity.

She continued, “It’s also an opportunity to generate by America’s own activities in space. It certainly is a program, or council I should say, he’s excited to keep in place and… I think it’s fair to say he agrees with the past administration’s maintaining the program.”

Psaki was accused of making fun of the space force during a press briefing in February, as IJR previously reported.

When asked if Biden made a decision on keeping the “scope” of the Space Force, Psaki replied, “Wow. Space Force. It’s the plane of today,” seemingly referring to questions about the color scheme of Air Force One.

“It is an interesting question,” she added. “I am happy to check with our Space Force point of contact. I’m not sure who that is. I will find out and see if we have any update on that.”

The following day Psaki sought to clarify her remarks. She explained, “They absolutely have the full support of the Biden administration, and we are not revisiting the decision to establish the Space Force.”
