Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) was confronted by protesters over her support for Ukraine.

The confrontation appeared to take place during a live town hall event on legislative victories and opportunities for constituents this week.

Twitter user Jose Vega tweeted a video with the caption, “My friend [Kynan] and I confronted Congresswoman [AOC] on her support for Nuclear War and Ukrainian Nazis.”

He added, “I call her out for being a coward in the face of the party that will push us all into Nuclear war right now. Will she stand up like [Tulsi Gabbard] and fight for peace?”

“None of this matters unless there’s a nuclear war, which you voted to send arms and weapons to Ukraine,” Kynan shouted at Ocasio-Cortez.

Mentioning former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii), Kynan continued, “She’s left the Democratic Party because they are war hawks!”

He then accused Ocasio-Cortez of voting to start the war in Ukraine.

Joining in on the confrontation, Vega shouted, “You voted to mobilize and send money to Ukrainian Nazis. You’re a coward.”

He continued, “I believed in you, and you became the very thing you sought to fight against. That’s what you’ve become. You are the establishment.”

Vega called on Ocasio-Cortez to denounce the Democratic Party.

The congresswoman could be heard shouting back.

She eventually told Vega he was being “rude.”

In March, Ocasio-Cortez expressed her support for the people of Ukraine in a tweet.

“As Ukraine fights against the Russian invasion, we have a moral obligation to assist any way we can. The Ukraine Comprehensive Debt Payment Relief Act would work to support the immediate suspension of Ukraine’s debt payments, help coordinate comprehensive debt relief, and more,” she tweeted.

Earlier this week, President Joe Biden spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about the United States’ plan to continue to support the country.

Biden “expressed his condemnation of Russia’s missile strikes across Ukraine, including in Kyiv, and conveyed his condolences to the loved ones of those killed and injured in these senseless attacks,” according to the White House.

The White House also reported the president “underscored his ongoing engagement with allies and partners to continue imposing costs on Russia, holding Russia accountable for its war crimes and atrocities, and providing Ukraine with security, economic, and humanitarian assistance.”
