Vice President Mike Pence is optimistic lawmakers can come together despite differences and help the American people through the coronavirus outbreak.

In a phone call interview on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” on Monday night Pence gave an update on the measures the government is taking to stop the spread of the coronavirus and how officials are working to provide for Americans.

Hannity opened the program by explaining the regulations Senate Democrats want to put on the coronavirus relief package and accused them of being more focused on passing the Green New Deal than helping Americans.

Pence went on to call on Democrats to join Republicans in passing the relief package and explained how the administration is working with both Democrat and Republican governors to mitigate the effects of the coronavirus.

He explained that the administration believes that bipartisanship will prevail and lawmakers will pass the relief bill.

“We’re still hopeful,” Pence said, adding, “Maybe before the day is out tomorrow that we’ll see Democrats come together with Republicans and pass a bill that will provide immediate financial assistance.”

The conversation transitioned to Pence discussing the development of treatments for the virus and how the government is not overlooking anything.

“But we are literally leaving no stone unturned to address this crisis and bring relief to Americans,” Pence said, adding, “Now, it’s going to be a year-and-a-half before a vaccine is available. But those same pharmaceuticals are working on what are called therapeutics, which we may have out by a little bit later this spring that will bring relief to people.”

The exchange came to a close with Pence praising American businesses for coming together, donating resources and doing their part to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

He reiterated the importance of coming together as a nation and how doing so will lead to success.

“And, Sean, I can just tell all of your listeners all across America, we can do this,” Pence said, adding, “And it’s going to take all of us. As the president has said many times, we’re all in this together.”
